What should I measure for an interior wooden door?
Start by naming what you measured. A door leaf, the clear space inside a retained frame and a wall opening are different objects. Write the basis beside the dimensions, use one stated unit and retain each observation. Do not convert opening dimensions into manufacturing dimensions with a universal deduction.
- Replacing a leaf in an existing frame: record the existing leaf dimensions and thickness, the retained frame, hinge locations, lock details and photographs. State whether the existing leaf fits correctly. A replacement must be reviewed against the actual frame and hardware.
- Using an existing frame without a leaf: record the clear space inside the frame at several positions, the frame profile, rebate or stop and hardware locations. Label these as frame measurements. Ask MIAOKE which further details are needed for the proposed leaf.
- Supplying a new door set in a wall opening: record the opening at several positions, wall thickness, finished-floor status, nearby obstructions and the proposed frame and trim. State whether finishes and floor levels are final.
Keep the individual observations
For a preliminary record, take width observations near the top, middle and bottom, and height observations at the left, centre and right. Identify those positions in a sketch. Note unevenness, obstructions or unfinished surfaces. Retain all values instead of silently selecting a single value; the project drawing review determines how they are used.

How do I describe door handing without ambiguity?
Identify the side from which you are looking, name both rooms, mark the hinge side and draw an arrow showing the required opening movement. Include a plan sketch or photograph. A label such as “left hand” alone can mean different things under different conventions; confirm the project drawing with Sean before relying on a label.

How do I prepare a door schedule for a quotation?
Use one row per opening or clearly identified group of identical openings. List quantity, room, measurement basis and units, all raw measurements, wall and floor conditions, selected reference IDs, leaf or set, included components, handing description, destination and drawing revision. Write “To be confirmed” beside missing decisions.

How do I connect the door design and finish to my schedule?
Choose the visual direction in the model library and door-leaf finish library. Copy the public reference ID or share link. Keep the edition, page and image position where supplied, especially when one page shows several options.
Enter the model and finish IDs in separate fields and state which component uses the finish. These are appearance preferences. A walnut-look name does not establish a solid-walnut construction; colour, substrate, core, surface process and compatibility need separate review. Physical sample confirmation belongs to your specific customer and project.
What should be included in a door-set quotation?
- Product: confirmed construction, leaf and frame dimensions, surface and selected references.
- Components: leaf, frame, trim, hinges, lock, handle and any other agreed items, including who supplies each.
- Commercial basis: currency, quantity, price unit, reference total or confirmed quotation, named place or port, delivery basis and validity.
- Handling: packaging and marking requirements, destination, and any installation or site information to be reviewed.
- Approval record: the agreed drawing revision, specification and physical sample references, with outstanding details identified.
Review the published door reference totals for their stated configuration and unit. A leaf reference total is not the price of a complete set. A reference total alone does not establish EXW or FOB terms; shipment costs depend on the confirmed order, packaging and named place or port.
What if the project also needs wall panels or cabinetry?
Keep a separate schedule for adjoining wall panels and cabinetry. Record their dimensions, finish reference, substrate and surface treatment independently. Questions before sending your door brief
Should I send the door-opening size or door-leaf size?
Send the measurements you actually have and label the object measured. If both are available, record them separately. MIAOKE reviews the proposed frame, leaf and site conditions before confirming production dimensions.
Can MIAOKE quote while some details are still unknown?

Can I use one door size for every opening?
Do not assume that visually similar openings are identical. Record each opening or identify a measured group and state what remains to be checked. Resolve differences in the project drawing review.
